About Coach Kyle

I am a lifelong resident of the D.C. Area, with an Engineering degree from the University of Maryland and an MBA from UMGC. I’ve spent nearly two decades working as an engineer, project manager and leader in the energy industry. I have experience working for a Fortune 200 corporation, a mid-sized local business and tech startups. Throughout my career, I have had an inherent knack for working with friends, family and co-workers as they navigated myriad challenges. Eventually, I decided to dedicate myself to coaching.

My coaching practice focuses on professionals experiencing career transitions. Transitions can be internal (self driven) or externally caused. During times of change, it is common for values and norms to be challenged and reshaped, which can be tumultuous. With me as your coach, we will observe how you navigate transitions and uncover new ways to be grounded through uncertainty and unleash your highest potential throughout change.

My executive coaching approach is rooted in the powerful principles of Core Energy Coaching, a methodology I've honed through extensive training. This approach allows us to delve into your values, energy levels and self identity. I use somatic and energetic exercises to identify areas where your energy and values are validated and recognized. We will also identify internal and external aspects that are in tension or conflict. We will parse out the root causes of this tension, identifying any systemic or internal blockers present. When internal blockers are observed, we will sit with them, understand them and their origin. Together, we will identify resonant actions that will stimulate deeper understanding, move energy and empower lasting transformation.

Effective coaching is based on a strong relationship between us, which includes honesty, vulnerability and integrity. Coaching sessions with me are a space to freely express thoughts and feelings as insight to deeper understanding and appreciation of yourself.  We will “be real” with who you are, how you are showing up, and responding to the world around you. This is also a space where we will challenge narratives and perspectives that are hindering your ability to achieve your goals and reach your potential.

My approach also draws from my experience as a Black man in professional spaces. While the traditional coaching skills I employ are widely effective, there are unique challenges that Black professionals face, including micro-aggressions, marginalization, burnout and stress. I am passionate about helping Black women and men move from surviving to thriving in their lives.
